Tears
We were tears in a coffee cup drowning in the darkness.
Then with a splash of cream we swirled in the lightness.
We were lifted to the lips of God who whispered in our ear.
Sit upon this book of truth and paddle to the pier.
Understand it’s not a boat for it is so much more.
If you take this enlightened path you shall reach the shore
Once you land it at the rim, your road is truly clear
Pay no attention how the others live for you shall feel no fear.
If you do this simple thing you can rest assured of heart
Though you may not see me at the landing we shall never part.
