Tearing Down Walls
Because of you I have loved so deeply
and because of you I have been bled dry,
"Well, you don't really love him." she said to me
(she gave herself away) in an instant I knew
she lied.
Not only to me.
Walls, walls, walls,
and only I can tear them down,
But how, behind each brick
I encounter my heart.
You said such awful things to me,
declared your truth for the world to see.
You never wanted to love me
only to be set free.
I will deal with the bricks
you can deal with your heart.
