Teardrops From Our Souls
The raindrops fall as we stand close.
Drips wet your lashes, slick back your hair,
Once thick black curls, soft through my fingers.
Now thinning, with grey sprinkled throughout.
We kiss once....twice, then hold on tight.
Our eyes connect, the sadness flows.
I search your soul, see loneliness.....
But you must go, you say to me,
Enjoyed your company, and off you dash.
The rain keeps falling, a grey day indeed.
I’m left with wondering if you’re ok.......
After everything was said and done,
Somehow I feel I’ve let you down.
The tears slowly run down my cheeks,
Mixed with raindrops that keep falling,
Like tear drops from our souls.
