Teacher

TEACHER

An expert in  some field?   Not always so
A trained  technician who might know 
About psychology and learning curves?  Perhaps  or no.

Seems to me a teacher is one who 
Always wants to show people  how to  -
When they  seem to be in the dark:  and you

Can see a  teacher-guy just can’t resist the urge to say
Let me maybe show you a new or better  way
And it’ll  brighten up your day.

It’s not that a teacher can  teach, 
Or that he knows how to teach, 
It’s that he always wants to teach.

Andrea Dietrich March 31, 2012 at 11:14 AM Also this is stressed a lot in the ESL field. A teacher has to be able to set things in motion so that the students guide themselves to the knowledge. They tell us we should be talking less than 25 percent while our ESL students talk at least 70% of the time with each other. Sometimes I accomplish that goal, but rarely in my grammar class.
