File by April 15th,
avoid penalty and interest.

Declare all income from: 
          gainful employment
          investments
          state refunds
          poker winnings
          bingo winnings
          jury duty
or even if you sell your old jalopy 
                              to your cousin.

But your losses are not fully deductible,
must be reduced or prorated,
                             spanning future years.
There are limits, you know -

and those limits - well,
          tax credits apply to others,
                      in every case . . .
                             you've exceeded the limit.

So dig deep . . . and pay up.

Hi Cona. Long time! My apologies for not having read this before. Just realized we share the same profession. Was caught up in it too but immediate took a short vacation after the deadline. I had to smile at what you wrote. Can totally relate. How've you been?

Thanks for the visit, Kim. I've been doing okay, and hope the same is true for you. Immediately after tax season, my garden needs attention. Flower gardens bloom profusely in our yard, from the first crocus to the last mum. I much prefer the active work in the garden to being stuck at a desk.

I've prepared returns for friends and family for years, but I recently declared that this year is my final one! Just finished the last one yesterday. It was difficult, with two businesses, and two states. UGH
