Notes About The Poem

I know many who have tattoos so this is not a critique. Most young adults have one or more including my kids. Decided on a six letter acrostic for this three line poem.

Tattoo

Tattoo

Think ink, permanently needled into flesh; tainT
Absolute with no quick absolution; twO
Together forever - will you be happy with your tattoO

A tattoo is for life, got to say I don't find them attractive and i know many people end up trying to have them removed but each to their own - hubby recently took a photo of a guy who was covered in tattoos and piercings on his head /face - he looked so scary - I think he was trying to be the most tattooed and pierced man in the UK! I may have to do a poem about it! hugs jan xx

I really like how you're playing with the words in this poem, using capitalization to make the reader pause and focus on specific ideas like taint and together. The last line is a powerful, thought-provoking question.

Hi Kim, I saw an old woman with so many tattoos. Ugly though. I would not mind a small dainty tattoo, but many tend to exaggerate.

Nice job, making a double acrostic! I don't have any tattoos, but I remember Steven Wright saying he had a tattoo of himself, that was exactly the same size as himself.
