Tasting Salt On the Rain

On the brink of a raging storm Trying to hide my pain Feeling it all slip away Tasting salt on the rain I can’t help free-falling down For reality is rarely plain And I am losing all control Tasting salt on the rain I am familiar with suffering ‘Cause life has taught me pain Now I am standing in the storm Tasting salt on the rain Tears are falling I didn’t know I held Pouring, though I tried to refrain Swallowed the hurt and hid it deep Tasting salt on the rain Standing on the brink of breaking Knowing I can’t hide the pain Letting go of my caged emotion Tasting salt on the rain I am shattered, over the edge I’m afraid that I’m going insane I’m too far gone, lost in the storm Tasting salt on the rain ©Copyright 2015.
