Tarnished

It took so much to see what you left destroyed You had it at one time, but you left it here denied I don't know how to make you want what you don't have And you bask in tiny smiles, but I stand here so defiled A tortured scream can mimic all that's in your soul Did you think that you were pure? Because I never thought you were You took for keeps the things I thought I never had And you locked them deep inside and wore them on your pride Hate washes clean The mask is stripped away Your poison flows into my veins
