Tapping Time

Shivery dawning sun
Spring breeze denies its warmth
An old friend's wool plaid shirt
retrieved in sleepy haste
Defeats the breeze
Warm memories defeat
The death that took him.
Spring beckons me once more
Awakening the aches of movement
Teasing green in bursting buds
Tossing last years yellow holly down
As baby leaves emerge
Why is everything so clock of late?

Nice use of imagery and personification in this one. It flows well. I enjoyed it. Keep on writing! Karen
