Tapping Fingers

On the job he sits at his desk all day
The boss is gone? He flew the coop!
Tapping fingers ‘til the day is done
He'd better watch out, it'll soon be gone

We work all week, plus some over- time
At the beauty shop, his wife in style
Tapping fingers ‘til the day is done
He'd better watch out, it will soon be gone

One of these days, I’ll run this show
I will be rich! Pockets full of rolls
Tapping fingers ‘til the day is done
He'd better watch out, it'll soon be gone

I found a great allegory in this poem Jimmy. Very well written with a profound message veiled. Thank you for commenting on my poems. Blessings, Connie
