There are so many afraid to try these forms. It just takes some practice. I find lines of 5 and 7 show up in a lot of my work..LOL

Try starting with Senryu.. a bit easier than haiku because of the subject matter. Senryu can be turned into Tanka also because western Tanka does not have the subject restrictions.
