Tang

Sometimes days drag on I look for solitude within the masses trying to blend in, with the fishes Unfortunately, too colorful. Hues that dialate pupils upon peering Even in darkness, simmering, Incandescent Impossible to slumber. Don't know much about myself Look like everyone else. We swim together, in all elements We are inseparable. With every new idea revealed My colors fade Alone in body, keen in mind I forge through with lone eye. Now see things in a new light My light, look what i've made From inside out AND outside in Functional, in touch again. It's not lost if one has it Colors will never fade 'Just get buried and compounded Underneath all the Gray.

Boy, that last verse packs a punch, Peter! Great poem. Did you ever read Harry Reasoner's book "Before the Colors Fade." Think you'd like it.
