Tandav the Dance of Power

In the innermost corner of a dark alley, a light seeps through….
I dance, a shadow on a cracked wall
A dance of the freak,
A smile for her, for that one there
For this one sitting here
Body twisting, a perverse glee
For the audience to see
The performer me.

Somewhere on that wall
Is a shape…just one..
The other a shadow
Somewhere in that corner house
Is a body …just one
What is seen, a shadow
Somewhere in that room
Is a soul…just one.
What is felt, a shadow
Somewhere on that dampened sheet
Is a woman…just one
The shadow performs.

Somewhere across alleys, roads, meadows and waters
Is a sky…just one.
Naked, all embracing one.

And in the stars…
There I dance,
my Self on a vast expanse
A dance unknown
In a trance….
A smile…for no one to see
My body moving to a music within
A rhythm for my soul
I just dance for Thee.

Tinty, this poem sort of wove its way through the shadows in a dance-like rhythm. It is soothing in an eerie sort of way. thanks for submitting it to the contest.
