Tancred Oengus Ler

My golden boy dog Tancred Oengus Ler, More often known as Tannie Bear, Is always of two minds. One a gentle, knightly mien, “a ladies' man”, the other lusty and feisty, when roused to tussle by his vixen she dog, out of hand. A contented giant of even moods, 'Til his courage must best the ire of a grumpy foe. Later, patiently and nobly awaiting attention or food, Then stubbornly defending a treat, not letting go. His massive blond fur curls into ringlets, When running surf and swimming far at salty beaches. He’ll calmly keep me company there 'til sun sets. Great love and patience are the gifts his life teaches. Feverishly fetching balls and sticks as time flies by, He’ll steal gloves from your pocket on the sly. He loves to roll in the grass and finds it a tasty snack, When he’s not paws to the sky, rubbing some itch on his back. Oh, my wise old friend, my Honey Bear, Though you loathe the brush and you’re not a cuddly thing, You’ll listen endlessly as I chatter and sing. The secrets to a happy life you are aware, I pray we walk many more miles before your last fling. M. Renee Taylor 4-29-2010
