This is an extract taken from my own poem  "The scenes of Korea". I had been lucky enough to observe the ritual while on a visit long back
Walk softly and watch The rite of Tanabata taking away nebuta. People write wishes On paper strips tied to tree Mostly to a bamboo tree ******** Dt. 27-8-2013 This was my first poem after my comeback on the soup. Contest: New Poem 9th place win =========================== *Tanabata (???, meaning "Evening of the seventh moon") is a Japanese star festival, originating from the Chinese Qixi Festival ** Nebuta meaning sleepiness

I am always astounded at the many different things that people put store by Dr Ram; i think we are all at times in denial of our own insignifigance in the great scheme of things other times people embrace it..' yes a strange world..!
