Talking to Myself
All day and all night,
I talk to myself.
Perhaps,
I talk a little too much.
When I stop talking,
there is so much hatred and fear all around,
so I light a little candle
somewhere inside myself.
I cannot change everyone,
nor can I stop
every fear.
All I can do
is take my own hand
and gently tell myself,
Come on, brother,
let’s be a little better friends.
