The sun breaking silently through the clouds ... like the grey heron; two images that compliment each other. Congratulations on placing first, Jan! Hugs // paul

I also have a heron I watch often Jan. Their steadfast pace inspires calm I find. Best of luck for the contest. Tough competition for me tonight I have read so far.

You may want to watch hunks instead as herons go to considerable trouble to ensure the fish goes down head first (but you do have ample time to think whilst they are going about it). Bonne chance! Aloha! Rico

I've had terrible issues sleeping with hubby away and been getting up at silly oclock this week, getting into work an hour and a half early and walking down by the park and harbour and taking pics of the wildlife, the grey heron in the harbour is my favourite he is there every day in one of two places and I spend a long time observing him so it was he who inspired the poem:-) hugs Jan xx
