Taking back Control

Sometimes, out of nowhere, a realisation
comes to mind that says:
The time has come when I feel I have
to draw the line,
No more excuses, no more shrugs, and
no more telling yourself those same old
lies.
It's time to admit and be honest when
things aren’t fine,
Start rethinking about “Me” and
experiencing that “Me time feeling”
more often, even if it means cutting
a few ties.
It’s a time to put oneself first, a time
to stop sitting on the fence to choose
between being happy or being sad.
People come, people go, and things
change, some good, some bad,
Try not to lose Hope or be mad.

Beating oneself up or refusing to move
forward prevents one from finding a
way out of wherever or from whatever,
But with a smile and a leap of faith,
continue the search for the place
called “Serenity”, even if it takes a
month, a year or forever.

At times, Reality is harsh, but pay
heed to the murmurings of the inner
voice,
When It says, take heed, remove the
veil from the eyes, and take a chance,
There’s no right or wrong time to take
back control, It’s a scary choice,
Life is short, so wake up and come
out of the trance.

I woke up from the trance as the veil
fell to the ground,
I felt petrified of being alone and starting
again, and then I challenged myself,
I took a long, deep breath and decided
to turn things around.
On my new journey , I met two friends,
Peace and Harmony,
That was when I realised I was no
longer bound,
Finally, I sat down with Peace in my
heart, my favourite cup of tea and
watched the Sunset in a Pub’s garden
called The Lazy Hound.

I really love the softness of your voice here in this poem, and how it flows so well and also how youv written so many profound truths in such a soulfully meaningful manner. I especially love the lines "People come, people go, and things change, some good, some bad, Try not to lose Hope or be mad.l" a very reassuring and comforting one, and so true, hope keeps us going amidst all that which keeps changing and more. The ending is powerful too! Pleasure reading this. Sending you light always

This must be true. The first mention of the Lazy Hound Pub I've ever heard. It all sounds good. The poem is good, and the poem could be used as a manual for the millions of us who need advice.
