Take Wing

You have a tiny smile when you see the world Your eyes ablaze with stories untold Taking in the sights with curiosity and wonderment And a heart full of merriment In that beautiful heart lies a tiny corner That is laden with doubt and fear About the future and what it holds near Causing your beautiful eyes to, sometimes, shed a tear The world is unkind with judgements made Calling you a stone when you are actually a Jade But what lies in you is for you to see Lush green meadows and flourishing trees Tap into these greens and see the world anew Garner strength from the positivism in you You will be what you want to be If you learn to see your resident beauty So dust your wings and fly, my child! Soar above the world, you have nothing to hide Stand firm and lead, and create history And tomorrow, the world will know you, and tell your story
