Take the Lead
I'm in control now
and I think that's what I need
I need to miss you
and think 'could this really be?'
I need to be in the waiting game
that causes me stress
but it's the only way to know
I look at your picture, and see a boy
but I hope for the day you'll turn out to be the man I know you can be
I need to look at you in a different light
Whether it means poems everyday
or just plain writing
I don't want to be another number
because I still care
I want to rise above them all
Please don't hate me
It's just another speed bump to slow it down
but that's why I'm in the lead
