Take Our Place
If life was a riddle, I’d fetch me a griddle, make me a pancake or two.
If I wouldn’t mind, to take the time, a cold glass of milk will do.
I’ll take two eggs, thats cooked sunny side up,
a bunch of bacon, hash browns in a cup.
A fresh cup of coffee, thats just made, I’ll take it to go you see,
I’d stick around but I have places to be.
Hold on there just a minute, I got something to say,
you might not like it, I’m saying it anyway.
I’m not doing the cooking, or the cleaning, for two,
why do you think I invited you.
You’re not as dumb, as I look, I can fool you just the same,
it’s not as simple, as you think, to carry on a conversation, so insane.
But after you get to know yourself, a friend you come to be,
well until your conversations swap, he tries to take our place you see.
