Take My Heart

Take my heart

Friends tell me I should guard my heart
Lest once again it's torn apart
But if I hide my heart from thee
When you look whom will you see?
If you look into those eyes I'm lost
Free from all pain but at what cost
Life's not safe I'll take my stand
and place my heart within your hands
to wound or love you must decide
I'm at the place beyond my pride
I need to know if you’re the "one"
Who will hold my heart till life is done
If you so choose to keep my love
I'll have found pure treasure from above.
