Take Me To Your River

Written July 7, 2015 I've been walking these same old roads for ages Passed by these same old streams My heart's been pulled along for too damn long it seems That every ounce of my being Cries out singing Take me to your river This place of old Oh take me to your river Drown my soul Walking along Humming a love song Nothing but a heart in my chest Nothing but confidence upon my breast This river is mine for the taking Dip me in and make me blessed But I just need to know Is that water pure? Would you pour yourself a glass Or have I been forsaken An enemy at last? Just tell me baby Would you dip me in your cool, ever-flowing river As my sins are washed away forever Or at least for tonight Take me to your river This place of old Oh take me to your river Drown my soul
