Take Me To the Seas
Have you been slapped across the face by beating winds from the sea?
Have you been drenched by high tidal waves splashing from the sea?
Have you heard the fog horns as ships come in from the sea?
The sleep is sweet from the soothing sounds from the sea.
"Those who go down to the sea in ships,
Who do business on great waters,"*
As far as our eyes can see, we look across the sea.
But there's little to see until we ride upon the sea.
There, we see, we hear, we feel, the heart of the sea.
There, we taste not, but smell the fragrance of the sea.
"They see the works of the Lord,
And His wonders in the deep."*
Poor me, I have only touched the waters of one of the seas.
Oh, the awe and wonder there must be to sail the seven seas.
Sharks, whales, dolphins, Penguins, and myriads of others in the seas.
The glaciers, the islands, and the coral reefs are at home in the seas.
Consider the powerful storms originating on a continent, heads for the sea.
Hurricanes, typhoons, tropical storms make landfall after crossing the sea.
Sometimes, after an earthquake, a tsunami will come racing across the sea.
The Arctic, North Atlantic, South Atlantic, North Pacific; four of seven seas.**
South Pacific, Indian, and Southern Oceans; three of the seven seas.
"For He commands and raises the stormy wind,
Which lifts up the waves of the sea."*
Consider the migrating sea animals as they make there way across the sea.
Consider the awesome guidance system of birds navigating the seas; the
the hills and valleys, the tall trees and mountains; all surrounded by waters of the seas. And I feel secure when I read that God set the border line for the waves rushing from the seas.***
