Take Me Home Lord
Take me back home Lord to happiness,
take me back to my home,
to family and to the innocence of childhood,
take me back Lord through the years.
To that tangled haired little girl,
who loved life,
and playing make-believe stories,
to mother and father's love.
Take me back Lord,
to those years of happiness.
Take me back,
when I knew nothing bad.
Take me back,
to my grandma.
Take me back Lord,
to live in peace,
and tranquility,
and the ignorance of a child.
Far away from the reality of life,
take me home dear Lord, please.
Only in memories,
does my love live on and on.
oh take me back Lord,
to my childhood.
The road has been hard Lord,
the journey bitter and difficult,
and heartbreaks are all that I have.
Take me home Lord,
take me to my true love,
take me to my babies,
take me home dear Lord . . .
(piano solo)
AND one sweet day Lord,
I will open the gate of heaven,
and I will be home forever,
with those I love . . .
(piano solo)
Oh take me home Lord,
open those gates wide for me,
I am not that tangled haired child,
but a woman coming home.
