Take Me Away

I kiss the waves as they wave me away,

Somewhere new,

We miss the days,

Back in May,

When everything was blue,

But I can’t do this anymore.

Take me away,

Somewhere younger

Where the pavement is yet to meet my feet

Take me away

Somewhere fresher

Where I don’t recognize the people on the street

Take me away

Take me away

Take me away

Take me away

I’ll take these Autumn leaves

And press them deep into the pages of a diary

Kiss the memories

Because we loved them when they breathed

But I can’t do this anymore

Take me away,

Somewhere younger

Where the pavement is yet to meet my feet

Take me away

Somewhere fresher

Where I don’t recognize the people on the street

Take me away

Take me away

Take me away

Take me away

Capture sunshine like an artist

Capture robins like a sadist

Pack my bag and board a train

Travel through the pouring rain

Hold me close and we can go

Hold my hand

They don’t need to know

Dip our toes into the shore

I can’t do this anymore

Take me away,

Somewhere younger

Where the pavement is yet to meet my feet

Take me away

Somewhere fresher

Where I don’t recognize the people on the street

Take me away

Take me away

Take me away

Take me away
