Take It From Here
Tupac passed me his pen and said you can take it from here
Just make sure you use your words to wipe people's tears
Write from your heart with no fear
Tupac passed me his pen and said you can take it from here
I write from the heart to inspire people I've never met
To encourage people in bad places to not give up
Find your own path, don't stay where you've been left
I'm numb, but I hope my words leave people touched
I speak on every matter that I feel needs words
I hope my words make an impact on someone before I leave the earth
I'm laughing at things I went through, thinking I wouldn't survive that
Right now I'm at the age that the great Tupac died at
I'll never write anything as good as he did
But I believe he passed his pen to me, I've been writing since a kid
Politicians do nothing but lie, I won't speak if I'm not allowed to say the truth
But when I am speaking, there's no way to put me on mute
Life goes on, no matter what happens in it
The world turns, I'm responsible for my actions in it
We're all just trying to make it out of the gutter we're placed
We're all just trying to overcome the suffering we face
I don't care if you're Black, Asian, White, short or tall
I don't care if you're a boy, Girl, Transgender, Big or small
I respect all and treat everyone equally
I try to avoid drama and live peacefully
Please don't take this poem in an offensive way
We're all what or who inspires us is all I'm trying to say
I hope my words will wipe away some tears
Tupac passed me his pen & told me to take it from here
