Tainted Tears

Tainted Tears

What lurks inside a single tear?
Look closely and you shall find
Polluted waters of yesteryear
Daunting dreams that remind

Look closely and you shall find
Sacrificial streams of love lost
Daunting dreams that remind
Sinking ships within a frigid frost

Sacrificial streams of love lost
Incipient illusions of life so real
Sinking ships within a frigid frost
Camouflaging calamities conceal

Incipient illusions of life so real
Polluted waters of yesteryear
Camouflaging calamities conceal
What lurks inside a single tear?

Winged Warrior, you so artfully pose such an intriguing question; 'What lurks inside a single tear?' Your sadly beautiful pantoum is deeply expressive of loss. Elegant and poignant! Warmest wishes, my friend. ~Susan

I have never attempted a Pantoum Wingy, but this is a very fitting form for your passionate write. Its certainly different, never thought of analyzing a single tear, but a friend of mine used to say, trap the first tear, it is the purest of all. Good luck on this winning write my friend....Maria
