T Rex Hits the Heights
Was in nineteen sixty seven
That the band tyrannosaurus was founded
Marc Bolan was the instigator,
loud music of T Rex was in our ears, here to stay
Took a while to catch on, in time had the fame
well nearly….. of The Beatles in the UK,
with their ride a White Swan Album
Bolan was a writer
Writer of music, writer of lyrics
Writer of Poetry,
Wrote a poetry book named The Warlock of Love
Was in New Jersey that they took to the skies
In a tyrannosaurus shaped balloon
Their music filled the air.
T Rex hit the heights
As good as they were,
they themselves were inspired
By the music of the Vikings,
that is how Chariot of Love was born
Unfortunately Marc Bolan was killed in a car crash
Just after finishing their final album
He wasn’t yet thirty.
End of an era,
Of Rock disciples, Glam Rock performers.
