Trust that the relatives will be kind enough to wait for the prayer.
Honor the guests by not bringing up politics or religion.
Acknowledge the ones who are not here this year.
Notorious memories brought up with loving bouts of familial laughter.
Kindness extended to those who cannot stay awake at the table.
Share our new stories with hope they will go no further.
Getting a last visit in before frost and ice keeps us homebound.
Ideally, the food will be super delicious, as great as last year.
Virtually include the relatives who are afraid to make the trip.
Imagining the fun of decorating the Christmas tree in a few weeks.
Necessary biting of the tongue when you do not agree with grandma.
Giving thanks for the ones that helped make this new Thanksgiving memory.
