Nothing is ever black and white, 

Definitely,
...I think.

Who am I to speak - zip it...
...
...for now. 

I'm not going to lose my head over it.

Well I won't
...but she just might.

When I first read your title, being a pianist my first thought went to keys but quickly I found that was not on the right track. I can feel the sadness in this and the caring. But mostly the understanding and that is where most miss the mark (if I have this correct). Regardless, I really liked this Carol.
