Symbol of our love

This heart is a symbol of our love -
A love that is always there,
come dawn or dusk.
For we are one heart and soul,
only separated by corporeal form:
I begin where you end -
we are a circle of light and love
and promises
in this life and the next.
And though there may be
bridges burned
or mountains moved
or lives upended,
we will be eternally
connected to one another,
for this world is fleeting and
the Universe is endless.
And in my mind's eye
I see you always,
and I remember our
love and light and
hope and grace
forever for us both,
no matter the distance
or space,
no amount of time
or death can erase.
