Swooning

I'm thinking, tonight,
While the world can be so bare of open thought,
She has the power to stir my curiosity,
I'm thinking how I haven't felt this flustered in a while
Wondering what she's thinking;
What is happening?

I think I'd like to lie down on her lips like a hammock
And swoon with her eyes for a while,
But what is the jewel of the night?
Maybe a phone call long enough to make us smile
And short enough to keep things simple
For now.
We all know
If you play with your food for too long, it starts to get cold,

So how about a kiss?
Better yet, make it three -
The first one, on you,
The second, on us,
And the third will be on me.

When we hold each other,
I feel like there is nothing else
Worth salvaging
And nowhere to go but up
To the highest faction of a dream
In perfect harmony.
