Swept Away

I wonder how it feels to be loved by you
Even though I’ve felt your embrace and tasted your lips
I wonder how it feels to consume your heart
Your thoughts, your day, your mind

Will I ever be allowed so close?
I don’t want to give up yet, I’m just not ready
But love chooses for its own reasons
I hold these never ending desires, yearnings even to be held as your jewel

Come now, before I walk away to find a truth
Don’t let me be used, save me from these horrid thoughts
Reassure me of your intentions, hold me tight
Tight enough so that all my fears are squeezed far away

Touch me softly so that my breath fades away
Sweep me up to a place I’ve never explored
Love me tenderly
Let me know you’ve accepted this ever-present longing
