Sweet Surrender

Love leads the way to freedom
Through peaceful surrender,
     so tender.
Sweet surrender release my hold
      to seek your gold.

Crumbling defenses are bold;
Desperately clinging,
Despite agony’s stinging.
Fear cements each brick
      in this fire
      despite earnest desire
      to seek Love’s sweet surrender.

Fear clings tight
Chocking my will
      in this fight
Holding firm to control
Despite its toll.

Love whispers its promises;
Surrender the door,
Empowered by trust
Not to end in dust.
Love’s sweet surrender will not disgrace.

Sweet surrender
Release my hold
To seek your gold-
     a life of peace.
