Sweet Summer Road - Visual 3

Sweet Summer Road – visual 3

Sweet summer, as emerald feelings rose,
trees, gnarled by duty, waving guidon flags
arched entry to the paths the lovers chose.
Sweet summer, as emerald feelings rose,
Love’s simple chore – make poetry from prose,
hold tight the dream on rolling hills and crags
Sweet summer, as emerald feelings rose,
trees, gnarled by duty, waving guidon flags.

John, the only one thing I could fault with this one was the fact that it was not strictly iambic; however, the tone, theme and quality of language are so incredible, it is well deserving of a top win. Such a lovely summer triolet. Congrats in my contest

Andrea, another great contest(and I hate writing Triolet - but enjoy torturing the muse). Thanks for the high placement in spite of the flaws. To paraphrase a great movie line "Thank you Ma'am may we have another!"

My pleasure, I try to drop in on as many poets as possible and squeeze in a few new ones each day but time....life's predatory stalker...haunts my efforts.

I just wrote my first one yesterday, and it was certainly a challenge. Yours is executed much more gracefully. I admire your talent.

Thanks Preston, I always struggle with the little triolet troublemakers.
