Sweet Sorrow

Listen to poem:
I have hid mine heart, Within a prison cell, Dark and cold, Whose key, only you hold. I have buried mine memories, Within the chasms of time, None is bare, Those secrets, only you and I share. From thenceforth do we part, From light and into darkness do I tarry, Into perdition, E'en to the close of my time. The memory of you, doth linger, E'en as the flowers, sprout on graves, And as the sun, doth shine, E'en on the viper, So I, e'en through the curse of time, Memories linger, E'en to the sunset of my life, These memories, a constant companion.

This was my very first poem that I wrote back in 2012. I used to think poetry should be in classical English with thee, thou and thence etc :). But as I joined PS I discovered there are so many forms to work with

I like classical too... Grew up reading the "classics", the local library was full of books with gorgeous words and language. (I think my brain was wired with them :)) Love the way your poem flows... "I have buried mine memories Within the chasms of time..." Resonates with me. Thank you for taking us back in time to your original poetry! ((Hugs)) Aqua M.
