Sweet Simplicities

The sweetest things in life are free
Like waves rolling in from the sea.
To walk hand in hand on glistening snow,
Like diamonds from heaven thrown.
A hug from my lover under the moon,
The smell of sweet roses blooming in June.
My purple lavender, covered in bees,
Delicate blossom on apple trees.
An open heart from devoted friend
That will love me to the very end.
Little babies soft and pink,
The glass of wine from which I drink.
Red cherries that hang like hearts,
Sunset as the day departs.
To listen to birdsong and butterfly wings,
I'm thankful for all these sweet things.
The love of all my family,
My faith in Christianity.
For all my worries and my strife
God sprinkles sugar on my life.

I love this Elizabeth. An easy seven for me. Your writing has an easy flow, and perfect rhyme, not an easy combination to achieve.

We live in a world that is so materialistic that many don't appreciate the beauty all around us. Thank you as always for your comment.
