Sweet Shadows

Shadows, falling on the street, shadows staring up at me, all I seem to see, are sweet shadows.
You walked out my door; I swear my heart can’t take anymore, so I’m left with my sweet shadows.
Words that we spoke and now all the hurt my heart holds, piercing silence and sweet shadows.
Seasons change, falling leaves, the wind blows, my heart grieves, my only company, my sweet shadows.
One quick glance into my life, all the change and the strife one strange constant fight and sweet shadows.
One Glimmer of hope fly’s my way, I grab on but it slips away, once again I shall stay, with my sweet shadows.
Memories burn, calm the flame, don’t come back I don’t need the pain; my pleasure to remain, with my sweet shadows.
Shadows, falling on the street, shadows staring up at me, all I seem to be, one sweet shadow.

This reminds me of my personal favorite poem: "The Hollow Men," by TS Eliot. Very good penning.
