Sweet Release

All the memories of us are beginning to fade; no longer can I recall what had made me stay. And all the things I had thought to be true, are now fading with the sour remembrance of you. What once was a free bird taking flight, now the same bird that has lost the will to fight. The fiery love that we once had, now seems so dull, so thoughtless, so drab. You never were passionate, you never ran deep, the only things I can remember are the things that made me weep. In an iron fist you held me, never to let go, as my breath began to quicken, my heartbeat beginning to slow. With all the effort I was putting in, I thought we would rise above it, I thought we would win. I’m fortunate to say you have proved me wrong, and all the love I once held, I thank god is now gone. -Micaiah Price
