Sweet Pain and Bitter Joy

I'm happy you remembered me
Today
I'm sad that you forgot
Yesterday
I'd be overcome with joy
If today happened all the time
But it doesn't--so I'm not.
I'm half full of happiness
And half full of pain
I cry while I laugh
And cringe as I smile
I sing sweet songs in joy
and taste the tears
Trickling down my face
I'm happy you were you today
But sad, because you weren't
Yesterday.
