Sweet Jesus

sweet Jesus
consummation
jungles damp
everyone is crying
trying heat
skin that shivers cold
you alone
redemption’s price
the cost of everything
some say no
and stumble
yes
a canopy of grace
face of death
a shadow
that cannot bite
sweet Jesus
light
right
flight
the terror in the night
revelation
white
the touch
of bleached cotton

Gerritt, I love "canopy of grace, face of death, a shadow that cannot bite sweet Jesus." Some poems make me see; this one made me feel. Good work! And thanks for reading "Feline Survivor." The one-eyed bandit thanks you too - Love, Carolyn
