Sweet First Love
SWEET FIRST LOVE
Her voice was as a bell tolled in soft motion, chiming with her laughter,
Urgently trembling every liquid emotion till it overflowed its banks hereafter
And surged out, a new energy limitless into the dimmed world: with perfume
Of flowers blooming in the wilderness from my dammed stream’s freed flume,
And the stars flaming anew as the tears of joy and emancipation
Flowed more urgent, glistening dew on the sweet petals of adoration.
