Sweet Departed
On a cold winter morning,
slowly striding along the side walk
thoughts filled with your memories
I picked an unusually dark flower
from among the bloom of velvet roses
I kneeled in front of your gravestone
in prayer laid the flower down in silence
I asked,
"Brother of mine!
are you too busy in heaven
you visit me no more in my dreams
I waited all night asleep
to see you awake even if in my nightmares
how ironically were we named
by our poetically bitter poor father
'sun and moon' we were called
and so fate had it that
parted us by day and night,
as I would walk the day, you are asleep and
I had to sleep to see you live.
rivers flowing through the eyes
to try to draw you out into my reality."
