Notes About The Poem

Sweet Children - 1

Sweet children
Who reach out to a delicate dandelion
Blowing it’s seed into the air
Whispering faith that this will bring
A answered wish or fulfilled prayer

Sweet children
Who smile at kittens and laugh
Listen to the chirp of birdsong like it is a caress
Giggle along with croaking frogs
And color the skies in lavender truth

Sweet children
Who listen to their hearts and sing
A brilliant tune with melody so kind and pretty
Lines that seem to bring peace in old age
And dreams to hope and faith

Sweet children
Who learn to believe in their visions
Of rainbows that linger on the imagination
Writing poetry on stardust and leaves
Of love expressed through belief

Sweet children
Who hug a puppy to their heart
Hoping they will never know the pangs of loss
Give thanks with a completely pure heart
And make life a better place to live

Sweet children
Who think spiders are their friends
Ache to know more about the giants and angels
Breathe harmony through laughing ideas
And make love seem like it’s as simple as blinking

Sweet children
Who know they own my very heartbeat
As it trembles and pounds with sincere appreciation
For the breathless love that pours out of these
Who love without conditions and give complete thanksgiving

Sweet children
How I long to tell you
Your heart is like a caress
Your spirit is like a kiss
And your soul sings of Jesus

This poem would be an outstanding poem to be celebrated for Mother’s Day Gina! It is certainly POTD material. Very beautifully composed. What a blessing you are as a mother! Love Connie xxoo
