Spring Birds Around Their Birdhouse Pictures, Photos, and Images for Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, and Twitter

“In the spring time, the only pretty ring time, when birds do sing . . . sweet lovers love the spring.” -William Shakespeare In early spring they reappear - the shorebirds and the swallow. Ducks, geese, red-winged blackbirds, owls and eagles follow. April brings more of the same with woodpeckers and warblers too. Early nesters of the spring - instinct tells them what to do! The cuckoo and the mourning dove, but the biggest boon for the end of April is The nesting of the loon! By May the spring time is ablaze with hues of birds galore. The cardinal and bluebird - harbingers we can’t ignore! Dear robin, I shall see you soon, for on the way is spring. With eagerness I wait to know which bird I’ll first hear sing. Very nice, Andrea. I like the birds mentioned and the rhyme you do. That is a good question- "which bird I'll hear first."

I think you are likely to hear the robins first, Andrea, though I didn't know there were "shore" birds in Utah. Maybe by the Great Salt Lake? This is absolutely love, dear. Surely a great win for you. Hugs, Carolyn

Very nice entry dear Andrea. As many below said, you have covered everything... Spring birds are a delight to watch... anytime for that matter, birds bring cheer and hope. Now, I really have no idea what to write for this interesting contest. But, will try my best, if I get time.. I adore the last stanza. Hugs ~ Ani

So many birds. I wish they never come to Malta. Too many hunters who only care to kill. Wish we could hunt them. Still a lovely poem. ~~

Love the quote! The insertion if red-winged blackbird has my heart. My encounter with the protective male was stunning.
