Slowly floating down the stream, the waterfowl glides seamlessly along the surface of the lake, its soft, silky plumage, and slender form, gracefully sailing into the sun.

I love swans Kahalini, and your poem describes them so well. Would by any chance you be observing the black swans of WA. I've seen a few in Sydney and they too are so beautiful and graceful. Thanks for sharing. Maria

Hi Maria, I wasn't observing the black swans although I do live in WA and have seen the black swans. You are correct, they are beautiful. I think all swans are graceful, except when they are chasing you!

Thank you, Alesia. Yes, swans are graceful, and because of this, they are a fascinating topic to write about.

what a stunning pleiades , i hope you share your passion for poetry with the little ones especially silly rhymes which is indeed poetry. i too love writing poems for children as i trained as a nursery nurse. but now writing humourous poems is my forte and i am self publishing my second book (but my toilet humour isn't everyone's cup of tea lol) https://www.poetrysoup.com/poem/millie_millipede_-_nursery_rhyme_1335942

Thank you, Jan. I've just started writing poetry again. I'm having too much fun trying out different forms of poetry to stick with one. I will check out your nursery rhyme book. I'm currently in the process of self publishing my own children's book. Thank you again for your lovely comments.
