Suspended

The world is suspended with her on my chest;
her breathing is steady and I am at peace.
So much in this moment, both slowed and compressed;
the cares of the day are forgotten, released.

How is it we let such moments slip by,
failing to grasp how important they are?
Careless indifference, letting time fly,
stuck on the sidelines, filmed from afar.

Dear Jeff, you speak the truth. We need to cherish each moment because when it is gone tears flow like the sea with no relief…such is my dad’s plight. O how he misses my mom. He goes on, but why he wonders. Blessings to a poet with a heart!
