Survivor

He's drunk again; It's time to fight
Harsh words fly like verbal swords
She listens to his apologies
The same ones he's used so many times before
How he loves her and doesn't want to lose her
That he won't hurt her anymore
But the wounds he's inflicted
Have cut too deeply this time
She can't take it anymore
This time when she walks out the door
She won't be back
She's packed her bags and dried her tears
Hardened her heart and swallowed her fears
It's time to move on
No longer a victim
But a survivor!
