Surviving August

Listen to poem:
Surviving August David J Walker The cooler days you said you can’t wait for Are finally coming But you don’t know when It feels like rounding a corner The last quarter of the year Becomes clear as the dog days Of summer set in Just days away September Simmers into Autumns thirst and A dying harvest I hear There will be a fair Where the wares of farming craftsmen and the affairs of charming farm women will be judged Why not enter this year As a way to survive August

Thanks Darlene.. It's fun to remember childhood and the simple pleasures of a fair

Really nicely done. It definitely is a task surviving August, especially down here in South Texas.
